“De Chateauroux” is a large sailing ship from 1908 — a two-mast klipperaak that carried potatoes, maize and beans along Dutch, Belgian and French waterways for eighty years. Converted in 1986, she now offers 26 beds across ten sleeping cabins: ideal for larger groups, families and teams.

A large common room, a fully equipped kitchen and two bathrooms make her yours for meals, leisure or happenings. Clean bedding and one high-quality towel per person are provided.

The skipper's quarters

Aft of the guest cabins, the original deckhouse keeps its own saloon, galley and private cabin — wood-panelled, with portholes and a view over the harbour.

What are check-in and checkout times?

Check-in from 16:00 (4 pm), checkout before 11:00 (11 am). Arriving early? Drop off your luggage at our office at Weteringschans 28 — coffee from our espresso bar included.

How many guests can stay aboard?

Up to 26 guests across ten cabins. The Airbnb rate covers 16 guests; each additional guest is €40 per night.

Are bedding and towels provided?

Yes. Beds are made up with clean bedding, and every guest gets one high-quality towel.

Is breakfast included?

Not as standard. On request we serve breakfast aboard for €7,50 per person.

Can the boat be locked?

The ship locks from the outside, so the whole boat is secure while you're out. Individual cabins cannot be locked: for safety and regulatory reasons every cabin must stay accessible.

Where can we park?

You can't park a car or bus at the wharf for longer than an hour. The best option is P+R Zeeburg I or II: about €8 per 24 hours, with public transport into town included.

How do we get there by public transport?

From Central Station take bus 22 (towards Indische Buurt) to Wittenburgergracht — about ten minutes — then it's a short walk to Hoogte Kadijk 147. Walking from the station takes around twenty minutes.

What are the cancellation conditions?

Cancel up to one week before arrival and we refund 50% of the reservation, excluding reservation costs.

What is the deposit?

€300. It is charged 24 hours before check-in and released 48 hours after checkout.

What are the house rules?

After 22:00, sound stays inside the ship — no noise on deck or on the wharf. Please keep the gate closed at night.

Are pets allowed?

Yes, pets are welcome aboard. Let us know when you book.
